Memories Bring Back...

Exactly 2 months have passed since we came to the campus.  We were informed by the seniors that the freshers meet will be held for the first year students.  We received a message asking all those who can and like to play badminton come to the badminton court.  I also went there with my friend because I wanted to play.  Although I played quite well there, only three players who played well were selected for the competition.

Day by day the date of the competition day was approaching.  On the morning of the competition day, I received an urgent call...

"Thilini went home with a bad fever. She won't be able to play today. You have to play in today's match."

I couldn't believe it.  I didn't even train properly.  How do I play like that ?????

From the moment we received that message, we practiced again and appeared for the competition held at 7 pm.  Our team won the first match and the overall winner will be decided by the second match.  I was the one to play for it.

Along with the uncertainty in my mind, my heart beat became so fast that I could hear it.  I even missed the cheers of friends around the court.  When I saw the face of my opponent and when I saw the hope of victory on the faces of my friends, my heart also felt the hope of victory.
My heart almost burst with joy as my friends cheered as I hit the final counterattack and completed the 21st mark on the scoreboard.

It is actually an experience that I have never faced in my life and it is an event that I feel will happen again and again at this moment until I die.

I was able to achieve this kind of experience through a game that I had never played before and did not even know the rules of the competition, because I came forward and tried to gain new experiences.  So, if you have something you like to do, try it as soon as you get a chance.  Maybe like me, it will be an experience you will remember for the rest of your life.
